Sorghum Grain Bean Soup with Vegetables
Ingredients;
- ¾ cup of Sorghum (boil for – 60 min in a separate pan before cooking this soup)
- 1 red onion
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 4 table spoon of extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil
- 2 tea spoon of chili powder
- 5 cups of water
- One carrot (cut into small pcs)
- 1 cup of Brussel sprout (cut into small pieces)
- One can of EDEN beans very well washed and drained
- 1 tea spoon ground cumin
- 1 tea spoon and more of iodized sea salt to taste
- ¾ cup of Italian tomato sauce ( Italian recommended only because it is Lectin free, Italians peal and de-seed their tomatoes to avoid lectins – toxins )
- 1/4 tea spoon of cayenne pepper (optional-if you like spicy taste)
- 1 cup of chopped parsley
Grain Vegetable Soup Methods
Please use organically grown vegetables
Step 1:
Start boiling the sorghum, 3/4 cup, i usually boil it for 60 min
After 30 min of boiling the sorghum start making the soup
Step 2:
In a Separate pan – add chopped red onion and 5 cloves of garlic, sauté in olive or avocado oil, sauté for 3 minutes, add 2 tea spoon of ground chili powder, and 5 cups of water. Then mix it well.
Step 3:
Add chopped carrots and Brussel sprouts, then 1 can of EDEN pressured cooked beans, or use home pressure cooked beans (wash well before adding them). Add sorghum grain (after draining and washed in cold water), cumin ground, cayenne pepper, Italian tomato sauce, and parsley, Mix well. After adding parsley turn off the oven.
